How big are YOUR bells?

UPDATE: I was just informed that our supplier is now restocked with regular style bells. Rubber Olympic bumper plate sets are now also available.
On Sunday May 24th we plan on holding our second introductory workshop on the fundamentals of kettlebell lifting. Again we are aiming this primarily at FACT members to get them using the tools properly, but it will be an open event to all who are interested. For those who already have the basics from the previous workshop and need some technical tweaking, especially with the snatch technique, we also invite you to come in. Get a quick refresher on some of the details and make it a training day.
Sunday May 24, 3pm - 5pm at FACT
$20 for FACT Members, $40 for non-members
Non member students with a valid student ID or previous non-members who attended the last training session can get a $10 discount on the fee.
Also, any attendee of this workshop can get $10 off their next kettlebell purchase made through us.
Please contact Leon to register your name for attendance before the 24th.
The Toronto Kettlebell Club now has a Facebook group. If you are a regular user of Facebook, please search for us and join to keep up with news, updates and announcements.
The Toronto Kettlebell Club is adding an extra day in 2009. In addition to our normal Monday at 7pm we are adding Wednesday nights at 7pm. Our regular $10 drop-in fee for non-FACT members will apply. Anyone who seriously wishes to come out regularly and wants a membership rate, just contact us.
In addition to regular non-competition bells we also have a source for standardized hollow competition bells. These bells are made by the same manufacturer as the AKC bells so the production quality is very good but they use a slightly different mold. The handle is just a bit narrower on these as well as being fully painted. These bells are significantly less expensive than the AKC bells when you factor in the shipping cost to Canada. However, if you are a purist, we do have a small number of AKC bells available. We prefer to have kettlebell orders picked up locally if possible, but shipping can be investigated if necessary. In any case, contact us for pricing details..
We are now incorporating Persian style club and mace swings to our regular training. They are prefect compliments to our kettlebell lifts as they add an extra pulling component, a wider shoulder range of motion and a greater anterior chain emphasis while still within a strength-endurance context. The clubs and maces are available for use during any session, depending on space, but please ask for guidance the first time you try them for safety reasons.
